"We are working on a few major updates on the site. We are creating a way for you to manage all of your photos (and soon videos) posted through Ping.fm in a nice little centralized media manager that will allow for submission comments and syncronization with other photo hosting sites like Flickr, Photobucket and sites alike."

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! You guys are awesome!

Ping.fm is becoming the swiss-army knife of the social media metaverse.
  • kestrachern · 1 year ago
Love the new Grammar feature!!!! Anything that helps me look smarter is much appreciated!

Looking forward to the photo/video posting. Not being able to post media has been a glaring hole in Ping.fm's feature set.

Now if you would buy out friendfeed and become a one stop shop my life would become complete! well at least much easier.

    :-)

Great updates! I'm loving the addition of Rejaw, thank you!
  • allanwhite · 1 year ago
Rejaw sounds cool, but what an unfortunate name. Too many vowels, not enough hard consonants. Perhaps not as bad as Google's Knol.

Regardless of name, many Kudos for integrating with... pretty much everyone!

    cool, keep the updates coming

Any chance you could add OpenID support for Rejaw? I set up an account using OpenID, so I don't have a username there.

Can't get this to work on my server, the weird part is that i have the kind of same plugin/component custom url for joomla and it's not working, the guys at infomaniak.ch are telling that everything looks normal and that it should be working..now i can see that from 2 different platform i can't get custom url to work...(bonk bonk hiting the table with my head )
  • Matt Jacob · 10 months ago
    Hey Ben,

Are you talking about my custom URL plugin for WordPress? If a different plugin isn't working with Joomla either, you might want to check your custom URL settings. Make sure the service is enabled and that it's set up to post the kind of updates you're using (e.g. status/micro-blog/blog). Also check the URL and make sure it's correct.

If you need more help with the WordPress plugin, you can contact me privately at matt -at- mattjacob -dot- com

The grammar adjustment is a cool feature and a great idea, but it would be even better if we could choose where to use it on a per-site basis. For example, I want to use it with the custom URL, and I also think Plurk should be grammar'd. :-)

Looking for the grammar feature and not finding it....

tweet me (@loyaleagle) if you can help me find it!
  • Amehz · 1 year ago
I second that. I signed up with OpenID also.
  • mojobaer · 1 year ago
Just tried the grammer feature, but nothing happenned - it did not prepend 'said' on facebook....is there a lag from turning it on and it working for a ping?
  • Daniel W. · 1 year ago
You need to have your name in your profile for it to work, could it be that?
  • Rob Record · 1 year ago
What doe you mean by that?

I am having the same problem.

    % is doing...
    does not get reformatted.
  • Rob Record · 1 year ago
I got it. :) I think they should make that clear.. unless I missed something?

    Thanks Daniel.

I love the Rejaw integration :D

    I third the OpenID support!

LOVE the wordpress custom url plugin.

Also, I'm glad I read this blog post--because with Rejaw, you don't want it to shorten URLs, of images for example, because then Rejaw won't show them on the page. So the little asterisk trick is just what I needed to know.

Does ping.fm have just like one big shortcut/notes page? It would be nice to have something like that to just print out and have lying around...
  • Matt Jacob · 1 year ago
Awww, thanks. You're too kind. Glad the plugin is working out for you. :-)
  • chasy · 1 year ago
wow. the prepend thing...i'm just...in HEAVEN. i haven't been letting ping update facebook and myspace because i'm like, totally OCD about my wordage. (<-- can you tell?) THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for this feature! hooray!

Can you guys get ohloh.net seems pretty open and easy/standard service to integrate. Their API is pretty open too.

Sounds great, but I'd really like to be able to adjust the verb used for Facebook to "twittered" instead of "said". Yeah it sounds kinda stupid but sometimes "said" doesn't really describe it correctly, and I'm trying to drive my non-techie friends to use Twitter more.
